7/13/11 We had our annual excursion to Bear Lake and Pickleville Playhouse last week. Who Shot Juanito Bandito? was hilarious; funny for our entire group ages 6 to 68! I was so impressed with the originality and especially the songs and singing talent. Great job, ya'll!

I also saw "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" for the first time in my life. Again, incredible performances, costumes, sets, and I loved the dancing!

Pickleville Playhouse is truly a diamond in the rough.

7/9/11 I waited all year to see your production last night. Bandito and others make us laugh our heads off!! Your plays are our favorite and we have season tix to desert star which we love but you make us laugh the whole show through and all year. We have a carved bear named bandito who sits in our pine tree up here and my husband was named Bandito after he had me dye his mustache. Too funny!! Thanks!!

7/6/11 My wife and I saw the Bandito last night and I must say I wasn't prepared for such quality in a small locale as Garden City. Kudos to T.J. for such a smooth, well written play, and yes, I know some was ad-lib but even that fit well and made it even funnier. To the cast: "Well done!"; my wife and I both laughed more than we have in years. As I told T.J. when we left, "Dude, you guys were awesome!" I've seen plays across the country and none compared to the "Bandito". And before someone goes off on a "Mormon bragging on a Mormon" forget it because we're not. But I can say we've lived here long enough to get the many subtle lines that were used. We look forward to more. Thank you for an entertaining evening.

"Just returned from tonight's Joseph performance and felt compelled to drop you a line. I haven't taken the time out to write something like this in years; positive or negative. Simply put, our experience was absolutely spectacular. My wife, 3 kids and I loved the performance, the venue, everything.

My wife and I are native New Yorkers, but now reside in Midway. We've seen over 60 Broadway shows, including Joseph and this was the most memorable experience we've ever had. We'll talk about you and your company to all for years to come. This was out first trip to Bear Lake and will return with your playhouse as a primary reason. Your kids were flawless in tonight's performance. The venue is priceless, the production was surprisingly great, the costumes, the use of the limited space and most importantly, the talent were second to none.

Bandito,

As you approach your 2011 season--and having purchased last year’s CD--I am writing to insist that any future CD releases contain parental warnings that your production includes graphic imagery of violence and cautions about the adverse affects this may have on young children.

My family visited Disneyland earlier this year. As I sat cross-legged on the ground, waiting for one of the evening shows to begin, my son stepped in front of me and pointed a fully charged Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster at my kneecap. In his best six-year-old menacing voice he threatened, “Hey Dad, don’t smile, or I will choot!” I had no chance—after all I was at “The happiest place on earth.”

It was over in a blinding flash. Funny thing, though, about Astro Blasters—no blood and very little pain. I’m learning to deal with life on one leg. The doctors say I’m recovering well and that after a few more months of rehab, everything will be just fine.

We're looking forward to July!

My family and I were staying at Ideal Beach Resort and just got home today. We had to leave before opening night, but Pickleville Playhouse was kind enough to let us come see the dress rehersal. First of all, your play was the most HILARIOUS and ENTERTAINING plays I have ever seen. It made me laugh throughout the whole thing and I am definitely coming back. I heard them say that you could buy cd's and maybe that isn't an option on this website yet because tonight was opening night but I am interested in one and wanted to know pricing and how to purchase one online. I loved everyone in the cast. I think everyone was perfect in the roles they had. I was very, very impressed!!!

With Thanksgiving in only 4 days and opening night of Santa's Elves just 115 hours away, we're "thankful" for the cast and crew of this year's North Pole Musical. The numbers above might not mean much to a lot of people, but in Pickleville's quest to bring an uplifting, professional, high quality, and hilariously entertaining experience to our wonderful audiences, they represent a lot of hard work and dedication. Is this year's Christmas show a brand new show?

Yes!

Sorry if we've confused anyone with the naming of our 2010 Christmas production. True, "Santa's Elves" was the name of the first Pickleville Christmas show in 2007, but this year's show is brand new.

We often use some of the same little bits or songs (ie Around the Christmas Globe, A Thug's Christmas, or Twelve Twenty-five), but it's a brand new story with a brand new feel all designed to bring a little holiday magic into our lives during the most magical time of the year! And yes, Santa will be there before and after the show to take gift requests and interact with the audience (someone even proposed to his fiance while sitting on his knee last season).

A "love"ly performance

Look what happened during the sing along at the evening show on Sept. 4th! Matt called us the day before and said he was looking for a fun way to propose to Hailey. Once we got them both on stage, Matt was understandably nervous, but he pulled through and popped the question. She said yes btw!

That would have been swell if that was the end, but about half way through the show, Bandito realized that the newly-engaged couple had "left the building." It made for a lot of fun the rest of the show.

So ... we're still wondering what happened to Matt and Hailey that night. Did they need some "alone time?" Did she change her mind? Any ideas of what might've happened?

Soles4Souls Shoe Drive this Weekend at "Bandito"

Pickleville is participating in a Soles4Souls shoe drive to benefit the country of Haiti. Please bring your "new or gently worn" shoes with you to any of our three February performances and drop them in the Soles4Souls drop box right outside of the theatre at the Eccles Conference Center.

The difficult times for the people of Haiti have not yet passed, so please make a plan to donate while attending the show this weekend!

A big huge thank you to everyone that participated in our Bandito Ticket Giveaway Contest! It was the first we've ever done here at Pickleville and we plan to do more in the future. We were overwhelmed with all the kind, odd, and sometimes hilarious things that you had to say about the show. (A special shout-out goes to the person who said it was "Better than Dora!") We're giving away 5 pairs of tickets to the upcoming performances of "The Hanging of El Bandito" in Logan at USU's Eccles Conference Center.

How to win:
#1 Give the show a "shout-out" on your Blog, Facebook, Twitter or Myspace. Eligible "shout-outs" must include all of the following five elements.

Mention Pickleville.
Mention The Hanging of El Bandito
Mention the showdates (Feb. 13th and 15th) and that it's playing in Logan.

You can increase your chances of winning by giving us multiple "shout-outs" either through multiple mediums (ie your blog AND Facebook AND Twitter) or by posting it multiple times.
Posts/Tweets must be separated by at least 24 hours.
